Building Authority That Supported an Acquisition
Monthly data studies on retirement and aging earned 317 stories with editorial backlinks in 2025 and played a key role in Seniorly’s acquisition by CareScout.
CareScout Case Study
Full-service PR, with a newsworthy, data-driven industry study every month and daily media relations, put CareScout in the Washington Post, USA Today, Business Insider, Forbes and Investopedia, and on CNN and NewsNation: 173 stories, 117 of them carrying a backlink (a clickable link from a news story to carescout.com, which lifts its Google ranking), and a 13-point rise in Domain Rating.
The Objective
Make CareScout the national authority on the cost of long-term care and aging in America: earn editorial backlinks that raise the site’s authority in Google, win rankings for the searches families type when a parent needs care, put CareScout’s executives in front of the reporters who cover retirement, caregiving and senior living, and promote its products and services to the families who need them.
Strategy and Execution
This was full-service PR, not a linkbuilding campaign. Prism ran CareScout’s corporate and executive communications, promoted its products and services, and handled daily media relations. The engine for national coverage was a newsworthy, data-driven industry study every month, built from federal data on retirement, housing, work and the cost of care, with CareScout’s executives as the experts behind the numbers.
Best and Worst States to Retire in 2026, the states where seniors will outlive their savings, the best states for older workers, where housing costs hit seniors hardest, and the cost of senior care in every state.
Ongoing corporate and executive communications and promotion of CareScout’s products and services, plus daily pitching: custom pitches to national business and personal-finance reporters, state-by-state rankings for local media in all 50 states, and senior living and insurance trade publications.
CEO Samir Shah, Chief Growth Officer Christine Healy, Arthur Bretschneider, Marlena del Hierro and 90-year-old Dr. Art Ulene were quoted more than 50 times, including Washington Post, USA Today and Business Insider features on Dr. Ulene’s climb of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Every story is logged in a shared Media Tracker with its Domain Rating and whether it links to carescout.com. Stories that mention CareScout without a backlink go into a reclamation queue, and Prism asks the outlet for the link.
The Studies
Three of the monthly newsworthy, data-driven industry studies Prism created for CareScout. Each one gave reporters a story they could not get anywhere else, with CareScout as the source.

CareScout’s leaders became the voices reporters call when they write about the cost of care.
Since Prism started on September 18, 2025, CareScout’s Domain Rating (Ahrefs) never fell in a single month. Referring domains are up 265% and live backlinks up 154%.
Top-three rankings up 101%, page-one rankings up 32% and organic visits up 18% (Ahrefs, as of October 14, 2026). Families searching “nursing home cost”, “assisted living cost” and “cost of long term care” now find CareScout first.
The Takeaway
Earned media did two jobs at once. The stories made CareScout the company the press cites for long-term care, senior living facilities and home health aides, and the backlinks behind them lifted its authority in Google, so families now find CareScout before they find anyone else.
